Gull Lake is, mostly, known for trout fishing, camping, and its proximity to June Lake along the "June Lake Loop" in the Eastern Sierra. This time of year, nighttime temperatures are typically still in the 30's, but the fish are biting and crowds are low. The Gull Lake Marina rents boats, and claim the lake is home to stocked "Monster Trout." A Fisherman's Trail circumnavigates Gull Lake, offers beautiful views of the water from all angles, and links campgrounds with town. It is easy to see why this area was a destination for Hollywood film stars in the 1920's, and referred to as the Switzerland of the Sierra.
